Introduction

Integration with an external calendar is the most secure method for enabling Salesloft app users to use meetings capabilities (see Book Meetings Through Salesloft).

In contrast to our usual method, which requires users to provide us with full access to their calendars, external calendar connection offers you complete control over the data that is passed to Salesloft. Salesloft operates as a simplified calendar, and the integration must perform bi-directional sync with a real user's calendar to maintain both calendars up-to-date. Here are the primary tasks of the integration:

  • Integration takes care of meeting settings for particular users to activate or disable integration.
  • Integration maintains the calendar state of users, allowing us to accurately reflect their availability in Salesloft services.
  • Integration collects meetings created in Salesloft and places them on a real calendar.

For the purposes of this guide, we will assume that your team uses External Email Client and all of the aforementioned steps have been taken to enable the use of all of the platform's meeting features.
